Lingfield Park Tips – 3 April 2015

Lingfield Park is the only place in England to watch top-level horse racing on Friday 3 April, which is precisely why we are focusing on this track for today’s racing tips, coming courtesy of Sky Sports. The Polytrack surface will ensure that the going remains standard.

The stakes in winning these races are much higher than normal, considering that it’s Good Friday. As a result, not one of the races features a prize fund lower than £150,000. This is set to be a very special day.

The first race with an interesting favourite is the 15:15 All-Weather Mile Championships Conditions Stakes. Sovereign Debit is the clear favourite at 3/1, ahead of Captain Joy at 9/2.

Easily the highest profile race is the 15:45 All-Weather Middle Distance Championships Conditions Stakes. Favourite in this £200,000 race is the 8/13 Tryster. From the seven other runners, Grendisar is the second favourite at 4/1.

Chelmsford Racecourse Results – 1 April 2015

The weather was dry and windy for this Polytrack racecourse, where the going was standard. First up in the schedule was the 14:00 Maiden Stakes which was won by favourite Giantouch at 11/10. Next up was the 14:30 Handicap in which another favourite won. This time, it was Ninety Minutes at 9/4.

Middle East Pearl broke the stranglehold of the favourite by winning at 6/5 in the 15:00 Handicap, finishing ahead of Midnight Destiny at 9/1 and Vejovis at 10/11F, respectively. Another favourite was prevented from winning when Upavon won in the 15:30 at 9/2.

Norab get the award for outsider of the day by winning the 16:00 Handicap at 9/1, leaving favourite Wakea to finish in second at 10/11.

Sonnetation then restored balance for the favourites by winning at 10/11 in the 16:30 Fillies Handicap. My Strategy finished off these UK horse racing results with a 9/4 win over favourite Clampdown at 8/11 in the 17:00 Handicap.

Argentina Beat Ecuador in Friendly – 1 April 2015

As we enter another thrilling weekend of Premier League action, we have one final round of international yesterday match results to report on. The matches were not particularly exciting on April Fool’s Day, but we did have an intriguing South American matchup between Argentina and Ecuador.

With many Argentina squad members set to fly back to their club teams on Thursday morning, you would have been forgiven for thinking that star players would be rested. However, that was far from the case. Argentina lined up with the likes of Sergio Agüero, Ángel Di María, Javier Pastore, and Javier Mascherano. Argentina absolutely wanted to beat Ecuador.

All looked good for Argentina when Agüero opened the scoring after just eight minutes of play. But the lead only last until Miller Bolaños scored for Ecuador in the 24th minute. Argentina then had to wait until the 58th minute for their winning goal from Pastore.
