Man City Lose 2-1 to Crystal Palace

The UK football results last night (Monday 6 April) threw up a shocking outcome in the Premier League. Man City are now fourth behind Arsenal and Man Utd, respectively, after losing 2-1 away to Crystal Palace.

Pressure has been growing for Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini ever since he fell far behind Chelsea in the Premier League title race. Rumours have circulated that he will lose his job at the end of the season if Man City do not finish second. That is now a realistic prospect, as the Citizens are set to race rivals Man Utd this weekend.

Man City dominated 74% possession over the course of the game, yet could only create four attempts on target from 22 overall. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace created three on target from four. The Eagles led 2-0 for much of the game, with City scoring a 78th-minute consolation courtesy of Yaya Touré.

Nottingham Daily Speed Figures – 8 April 2015

Tuesday 8 April will feature a busy day of horse racing in Nottingham, where the going is likely to be soft (heavy in places). This will be ideal for passing time ahead of the start of the 2015 Grand National. Today’s daily speed figures come via the Racing Post.

The 14:40 Handicap features a speedy horse in the 85-rated Waaday, which is trained by John Gosden and ridden by Paul Hanagan. Waaday also has an overall rating of 83 and a Racing Post rating of 88.

Casterbridge has a higher Racing Post rating of 90, but a lower top speed of 73. Meanwhile, Darma has a Racing Post rating of 88, while its top speed is 77.

However, perhaps the deciding factor is that Waaday has been earmarked as the favourite with odds of 2/1. There are many more races to check out in Nottingham today.
