Lingfield Park Horse Racing Naps – 1 May 2015

Lingfield Park has today’s best slate of horse races in England. On the first day of May, the English racing schedule is surprisingly quiet. For a helping hand, we are sharing a horse racing nap of the day from Sky Sports. The going will be standard because Lingfield Park has a consistent Polytrack surface.

Race-goers are looking to the high-profile 17:15 Handicap as the most important race of the day, as it features the biggest prize fund at £7,250. Pearl Noir has been earmarked as the most likely prospect to win it at odds of 7/2, but the five-year-old has only won once in its past six races.

At nine years old, Desert Strike is a more mature option compared to the inexperienced Pearl Noir. On recent form, Pearl Noir has won two of its last six races and will yield odds of around 9/2.

Chelsea Clinch Leicester City Victory

Chelsea brought Leicester City’s four-game winning streak to an inevitable end on Wednesday night (29 April), all but securing the Premier League title for the Blues. Four games remain and Chelsea are 13 points ahead of Man City and Arsenal. Of course, the Gunners do still have a game in hand, but that will likely prove academic.

Although Leicester’s loss was inevitable in the UK football results last night, there was a surprise in the manner of the result. The Foxes had actually managed to take a 1-0 lead into the break after scoring just before halftime. However, Didier Drogba quickly equalised after the break to restore order.

John Terry then scored with his right from a corner in the 79th minute, putting Chelsea 2-1 up. Ramires then assured the Blues of all three points by adding a third in the 83rd minute. Chelsea can now clinch the league with a win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Ascot Horse Racing Results – 29 April 2015

After a cloudy start to Wednesday, the sun later emerged to brighten the day at Ascot Racecourse. The going was good to firm (firm in places), inspiring some quick finishes. Here is your brief roundup of Ascot’s UK horse racing results from Wednesday (29 April).

Log Out Island started proceedings in winning fashion, securing the 14:25 Conditions Stakes at 9/2 in front of Handytalk at 7/1. Sperry was the second winner of the day at 4/1 in the 15:00 Stakes, with Touchline finishing second at 8/1. Mizzou gave punters another 4/1 winner after clinching the 15:30 Stakes.

Limato was the first favourite of the day to win, doing so at 6/4 in the 16:05 Stakes. That was followed by a 7/2 win for Moohaarib in 16:35 Stakes. Directorship completed Ascot’s race schedule by winning at 8/1 in the 17:10 handicap, leaving the more highly favoured Duelling Dragon to finish third at 4/1.
