The first wave of second-leg games in the first Champions League knockout stage came on Tuesday 10 March 2015. And from those football results from yesterday, there was a wealth of goals for fans to savour.
Current champions Real Madrid faced Shalke 04 in a game that many expected to be a routine affair. Having taken a 2-0 lead in the first leg, it was surprising to see los Blancos succumb to a 4-3 defeat at home. The firepower of the Galacticos simply wasn’t enough. Former Real player Klaas-Jan Huntelaar scored the winning.
The second game yesterday evening was between FC Porto and Basel. After drawing 1-1 away in the first leg, Porto were in great shape because they held an away goal. While playing with the advantage, were able to win 4-0 against their Swiss opponents. Real Madrid and FC Porto progress to the next stage.
