The going is expected to be good to firm at Chester Racecourse today (Saturday 30 May). Conditions will allow for quick horses to thrive on the fine surface. Ahead of the seven races, the Racing Post has unveiled its latest horse racing speed ratings free.
A sizeable £45,000 prize fund has been stumped up for the 15:00 Handicap, which is the third race of the afternoon. Baraweez should be fancies with a 108 rating, but four races without even a third-place finish is a drawback. In contrast, the 106-rated Newstead Abbey won its last race.
Another potentially rewarding race is the 16:10 Handicap and its £21,000 prize fund. Eleven runners aged four and above are set to enter. From those runners, Dalgig has a 98 rating. Although winning twice in six races, the 88-rated Thunder Pass has won two from its last four and is in better form.
