Everton Depart Europa League – 19 March 2015

Just a day after Man City were the final Premier League to crash out of the Champions League, at the hands of Barcelona, and Everton have now joined them. In the first leg of this Europa League encounter, Everton came back to earn a 2-1 home victory against Dynamo Kiev. The Toffees were extremely bad in the football results from yesterday.

Dynamo Kiev had a relatively easy night in the second leg, beating Everton 5-2 in a goal-packed night in the Ukraine. On aggregate, Everton lost the tie 6-4. They were not even close to progressing to the next round, thereby ending the hopes of English teams in Europe until next season,

Within the match itself, Everton again displayed awful defending in a season where we have come to expect them to ship goals. After Romelu Lukaku levelled the game in the 29th minute, Dynamo Kiev scored four unanswered goals.
