Exeter is where the big-name jockeys can be found today (Tuesday 5 May). Sean Bowen, Noel Fehilly, Richard Johnson, and Tom Scudamore will all battle to steal victory in the opening 17:50 Maiden Hurdle.
Should the weather hold, the going will be good or good to firm in places. As a preview for the race, we look to Sky Sports for their latest horse racing naps of the day.
From the five leading jockeys, it is the Richard Johnson-ridden Sternrubin that has been pegged as favourite at 8/11. However, Sternrubin has not managed to win in its past six races, finishing second on four occasions.
Of course, it must be noted that no other horse from the eight runners comes close on form. In face, Noel Fehily’s Angus Glens has made no recent appearances in Maiden Hurdle events. Perhaps going with the best form of Sternrubin here could work.
