Haydock Park Speed Ratings – 28 May 2015

Haydock Park is the focus of our latest analysis of daily speed figures from the Racing Post. Although the going is currently good (good to firm in places), that could change amid the light rain showers expected on Thursday (28 May).

Seven races have been scheduled for today, but our focus is entirely on the 15:30 Handicap and its 17 runners. Open to horses aged four or older, the field is highly competitive. Veteran jockey Frankie Dettori will even make an appearance, riding the 81-rated Direct Times – the four-year-old has won two of its last four.

Another quick prospect currently in a rich vein of form is the 82-rated Meshardal, winner of three and runner-up twice in its past five races. Avon Breeze has been rated quickest at 89, but has not won for five races. Twin Points (88) and Grissom (87) have also not won in at least five races.
