Liverpool performed well in the football results from yesterday, beating Swansea City 1-0 away in the Premier League on Monday 16 March 2015. A win and three points were vital for Liverpool, as they managed to close the gap to behind Man Utd to just two points ahead of their rivalry game this Sunday 22 March.
Just over 20,000 people were in attendance at the Liberty Stadium for a wet evening in Wales. Yet despite the relatively poor conditions, Liverpool were able to command 54% of possession. From that impressive share, they were able to complete 85% of their passes.
Although Swansea proved stubborn to break down, Liverpool’s effective passing enabled them to get 16 shots on goal, of which five were on target. The pressure eventually resulted in Jordan Henderson claiming a goal in the 67th minute. Liverpool held on to win and will have a chance to leapfrog Man Utd with a win on Sunday.
