Many will be surprised by the Gold Cup score-lines in the football results from yesterday (16 July 2015). Mexico lined up against Trinidad & Tobago to decide the winner of group C and determine who gets to advance to the knockout stages in the strongest position. Incredibly, the game finished as a scintillating 4-4 draw.

Trinidad & Tobago came into the game with a two-point advantage, so a draw would be enough for them. And all appeared to be lost for Trinidad & Tobago after goals from Paul Aguilar and Carlos Vela gave Mexico a two-goal advantage on 51 minutes.

To their credit, however, Trinidad & Tobago fought back quickly by scoring two goals in two minutes (55 and 57). Next, they added a third to take a 3-2 advantage, but Mexico then tied the game after 88 minutes. A goal from either side on 90 minutes then brought the game to a thrilling conclusion.
