Twin Sails launched the afternoon by surprising race-goers with an unexpected 28/1 victory in the 14:20 Maiden Stales. Journey stepped up next to win the 14:50 Maiden Fillies Stakes at 10/3, winning ahead of 9/4 favourite La Boheme.
Speedy Boarding blasted ahead to win the 15:25 Ballymacoll Stud Stakes at 7/2. A win then came for 6/1 prospect Mister Musicmaster in the 16:00 Handicap, with crack shot then snatching the 16:30 Handicap at 6/1.
A torrid day for the favourites then worsened when Jersey Jewel won at 20/1 in the 17:05 Handicap. Claiming the final race of the day was the 7/2 Silver Dixie. By winning the 17:35 Handicap, the five-year-old ensured an afternoon without a single victory for a favourite.
