Pontefract Horse Racing Results – 8 June 2015

The going was good to firm at Pontefract despite the threat of clouds on Monday evening. Looking back on the UK horse racing results yesterday, it would appear that the conditions largely suited the favourites.

Unilit delivered the greatest surprise of the evening by winning the first race, which was the 18:40 Maiden Auction Fillies Stakes, at 14/1. Tuscan Gold then stepped up to win as favourite at 11/4 in the 19:10 Handicap.

Dawn’s Early Light proved strong enough to hold off 3/1 favourite Normandy Barriere in the 19:40 Handicap. Cyril then became the second favourite of the day to win by claiming the 20:10 Handicap at 3/1.

Be Lucky also won at 3/1, snatching the 20:40 Handicap ahead of Orbit The Moon at 4/1. The final race was the 21:10 Handicap, featuring 10 runners. Jan Van Hoof proved successful at 8/1, leaving behind 3/1 favourite Stonefield Flyer in third.
