Royal Ascot is one of the most hotly anticipated festivals in the UK horse racing calendar. Starting this Tuesday (16 June), the festival will run for five days and give away millions in prize money.

And following the 14:30 Queen Anne Stakes, there is an altogether more thrilling race in the 15:40 King’s Stand Stakes. A field of 19 horses aged three or older will compete with one another. Below are the latest daily speed figures from the Racing Post.

Mecca’s Angel is rated quickest with 124, giving the four-year-old an edge in racing for the first-prize share of the £375,000 prize fund. The Michael Dods-trained horse has won four from six.

Goldream and Lancelot Du Lac both come next with on 117, but neither is as strong as Mecca’s Angel on form. Meanwhile, Take Cover last won six races ago and has a rating of 116.
