Scotland Beat Northern Ireland at Hampden Park

Ahead of a fresh round of Euro 2016 Qualification games this weekend, the UK football results last night were on the quiet side. With none of the Football Leagues in action, all eyes were on the spirited clash between Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Played out on the evening of Wednesday 25 March, Northern Ireland battled for much of the game. However, they were unable to display creativity when under pressure from the Scots. Eventually, though, the Scots were able to make a breakthrough when Christophe Berra struck in the 85th minute. There was simply no time left for Northern Ireland to level the game.

Scotland will progress confidently on to their qualifying game on Sunday (29 March), which is at home against minnows Gibraltar. Northern Ireland, meanwhile, have a much tougher task in facing Finland at Windsor Park. They must rebound from their defeat in Scotland if they want to take the three points.

Newcastle Speed Ratings – 27 March 2015

Newcastle Racecourse will play host to seven exciting races this Friday 27 March. The going should be good to soft, but could be soft in places. We can also tell you that the course has been watered and the weather will be mostly cloudy. For today’s horse racing speed ratings free, we turn once again to the wisdom of the Racing Post.

The highlight of the day is guaranteed to be the 15:40 Handicap Chase, which will give us nine runners competing for share of the £10,000 prize fund, with the winner getting approximately £6,500. Horses have to be aged at least five to enter.

Trust Thomas has the quickest speed rating of 131, while Montoya’s Son is just behind at 128. Notably, the Racing Post has rated both horses equal overall at 141. Sky Sports has Montoya’s Son (11/2) ahead of Trust Thomas (8/1) in terms of odds.

Lingfield Horse Racing Results – 25 March 2015

Lingfield was highly lucrative for winning punters in the UK horse racing results and payouts for Wednesday 25 March. Aside from one race in which the favourite won, there was much to be pleased about for winners.

Mercy Me kicked off the afternoon with a victory in the 14:30 Median Auction Maiden Fillies Stakes at long odds of 16/1. Skidby Mill followed up with a win at shorter odds of 3/1 in the 15:00 Handicap.

One Life Live It then lengthened the winning odds with an impressive win at 12/1 in the 15:30 Maiden Auction Stakes. The only favourite of the afternoon to win was Watersmeet at 4/5 in the 16:00 Handicap.

There was a return to the outside winners when Ask The Guru claimed the 16:30 Handicap at 12/1. The final race of the day saw Teen Ager stride to victory at 16/1 in the 17:00 Handicap.
