Sandown Park is the course for prize money today on what is expected to be another sizzling afternoon. And although the weather has been dry in recent days, current reports say that the going is good (good to firm in places). Today’s racing tips have been drawn from Sky Sports and the Racing Post.
An excellent race to start with is the £26,000 14:50 Stakes, which will feature just six runners aged only two years old. Riflescope has won only one from four, but that has been enough to ensure favourite odds of 7/4. Soapy Aitken could be slightly better at 5/2, having won two from three.
A more lucrative race is the £37,000 15:55 Stakes, open to horses three or older. Again there is a more compact field of six runners. Backing Tha’ir as favourite at 2/1 makes more sense each way, as the five-year-old has nine finishes of third or better in 15 career races.
