This weekend is easily one of the prestigious in the UK horse racing calendar. Thousands will descend upon the Epsom Downs for the 2015 Investec Derby, which will feature seven races and thousands in prize money. Although showers are expected for Friday (5 June), the going will likely be good.

Complicit appears to be the popular pick with a rating of 102, backed by two firsts and two seconds from six races. Arod does have a higher rating at 110, but has only managed a single win from its last six races.

Investec Derby Horse Racing Naps – 5 June 2015

The eyes of the racing world are on the Epsom Downs this weekend, where the 2015 Investec Derby will be hosted on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Today’s horse racing naps come from Sky Sports and will focus on the first day of the festival. The going is expected to be good despite the presence of showers.

From the outset, the action will be intense. That much is clear from the £70,000 prize fund allocated to the 14:00 Princess Elizabeth Stakes. Odeliz is fancied as 3/1 favourite in spite of zero victories seven races. Lightning Thunder also hasn’t won in seven races, yet is just behind Odeliz at 3/1.

Don’t Be is in much better form at 6/1. The five-year-old has won four times in its past seven races and is in superior form. Bold Laas is another intriguing prospect at 8/1, having won three from its past five.

Chelmsford City Horse Racing Results – 3 June 2015

Chelmsford City delivered the most lucrative prize money from the UK horse racing results yesterday (Wednesday 3 June). Two of the races even came close to paying out £13,000 to the winning owners. Conditions were dry and sunny for the all-weather track on Wednesday evening.

Pick Your Choice launched a streak of wins for the favourites by winning at 4/7 in the 18:20 Maiden Stakes. Giantstepsahead emerged as the next winner at 7/4F in the 18:50 Handicap. A victory then came from 5/2 favourite Wedge in the 19:20 Maiden Stakes.

Mambo Paradise managed to end the streak at three wins by snatching the 19:50 Handicap at 7/2. Shifting Moon then fought off competition from 6/5 favourite Champagne Ransom to win the 20:20 Handicap at 9/2.

Boonga Roogeta proved to be the most rewarding winner of the day at 16/1 in the 20:50 Fillies Handicap. Dynamo Walt then finished the evening by emerging as 4/1 victor in the 21:20 Handicap.
