Liverpool Humiliated in Final Premier League Weekend

Steven Gerrard had to suffer the humiliation of a 5-0 half-time deficit against Stoke City on Sunday afternoon. Liverpool’s outgoing captain managed to score a conciliation goal before former player Peter Crouch made it a 6-1 final result.

Liverpool appeared utterly lost, which is especially troubling when you consider the imminent departure of Gerrard. Star youngster Raheem Sterling could also be leaving the club this summer, with Man City interested. Liverpool can have no excuses.

In the other football results from yesterday, there were wins for Arsenal (4-1 vs. West Brom), Chelsea (3-1 vs. Sunderland), and Man City (2-0 vs. Southampton). Man Utd finished the season with a dull 0-0 draw away at relegated Hull City.

Another eye-catching score line was Leicester City’s 5-1 demolition of QPR. Despite his erratic behaviour, Nigel Pearson has proven competent in leading the Foxes to a 14th-placed finish and survival.
