Investec Coronation Cup Tips – 6 June 2015

Day two of the 2015 Investec Festival will be a fantastic spectacle. And although the 16:30 Investec Derby and its £1.325 million prize fund will draw the most attention, the 15:10 Investec Coronation should not be overlooked.

Four runners have declared for the £375,000 race featuring horses aged four or older. Ahead of the race, Sky Sports has unveiled its latest horse racing naps.

Dolniya is the clear favourite among the bookies at 8/11, which is understandable considering its four wins from its past seven races. Flintshire has been consistent in finishing second five times and winning once in seven races, resulting in odds of 13/8 for the persistent runner-up.

There is a major gap in odds until you get to 20/1 prospect Pether’s Moon as third-favourite, with the five-year-old winning twice in its past six. Sheikhzayedroad has managed to win three from seven, but those came four races ago for the 25/1 outsider.

Hamilton Horse Racing Results – 4 June 2015

In recapping Thursday’s UK horse racing results and payouts, it is time to take a trip north of the Scottish border to the scenic Hamilton Racecourse. The going was good to soft, which proved to be a challenge for the favourite horses, but a couple did manage to buck the trend.

Risk Adjusted proved equal to the softer turf by winning as 4/5 favourite in the 14:00 Maiden Auction Stakes. Insolenceofoffice then proved a highly unlikely winner at 33/1 in the 14:30 Handicap.

Under Siege delivered Hollywood thrills in winning the 15:00 Maiden Stakes at 11/1. The 13/2 joint-favourite Day Of The Eagle proved superior by claiming the 15:30 Handicap.

First Sitting was dogged enough to win the 16:00 Handicap at 9/2, with Munjally following up by winning the 16:30 Handicap at 14/1. The final victory of the day came for the 8/1 Voice From Above in the 17:00 Handicap.

Epsom Derby Special: Speed Ratings – 6 June 2015

Saturday is far and away one of the most important days in the UK horse racing calendar. Tens of thousands will travel to the Epsom Downs for the crucial second day of the 2015 Investec Derby Festival. This is when 12 horses will battle to be crowned winner of the £1.325 million Investec Derby.

Although cloudy weather is on the forecast, it is expected that the going will be good. For a preview of the 16:30 Investec Derby, it is worth analysing out the latest daily speed figures from the Racing Post.

Golden Horn is 11/8 favourite and has a top rating of 124, backed by three wins from four. The 9/2 Jack Hobbs is rated second at 118, with two from its past four races. Despite winning three from its last three, the 102-rated Success Days has long odds of 14/1. Success Days could be the best outside prospect.
